| Spanish Prime Minister José Luis RodrÃguez Zapatero with King Juan Carlos inaugurated the high speed line between Madrid and Valencia in length of 391 kilometers.With the commissioning of this new rail link, Spain has reached the performance of the longest network of high speed railways in Europe, surpassing France.Thus, the Spanish will come in 2011 with a high-speed network with a total length of 2,000 km, while the French have only 1900 km. Ranking third in Germany is 1,300 km.The total cost of the line linking Madrid to Valencia was 15.7 billion dollars. |
